I will schedule a time with your parents for me to zoom with just you at the end of the week to listen to you read.  Please don't forget to pause when you come to a period. Try to read from the beginning of the sentence to the end of the sentence without pausing too much. Read with expression, not like a robot. I can't wait to hear you read!

Also, I posted assignments on Epic for you to read. They are about Thanksgiving. I believe there are 2 books and 3 videos.  The videos are art activities. They are for fun.  If you decide to draw, please send me a picture on Seesaw of your drawing. For these assignments check your mailbox or library and you will find them. You have to be connected to our class. Some of you have the home version. You may need to log out of there and log into our class.

Extra reading if you want extra: Read in your reading book, Growing up in Early America, pages 6-33. Remember this is just extra, but I think you may enjoy these stories.  Also, keep your eyes open for your Spelling words.

Please complete the following pages in your Phonics and Language book:

Phonics: p. 90 (Do ONLY number 2 on page 90)

p. 94 (Do ONLY number 3 on page 94)

p.96 (Do ONLY  number 1 on page 96)

Also, please pick 2 spelling words and use of them in a complete sentence. Please use one word in a declarative sentence and one word in an interrogative sentence. You will have to use your own paper for this part of the assignment.

Spelling: Please read your list every day.

Also, please look for 10 of these words around your home this week. This may include the books you are reading, cereal boxes, game instructions, or your Epic reading or anything really. When you find one snap a picture of it and send it to me on Seesaw. Remember you need to find 10 words. That is 10 different words and 10 different pictures.

Math: This week in math we are working with quarters. We have been working with the fraction 1/4. Another way to say 1/4 is one quarter.  We will be working with a quarter after and a quarter til in class and also the coin 1 quarter. Remember it takes 4 quarters to make a whole.

9/14-9/18

Hello everyone! I have several things to tell you this evening:

First all students need a water bottle that is reusable that can be washed and brought back.  The water bottles with a twistable lid are spilled easily.  Please send an extra water bottle to keep in their bookbag to switch mid day if your child drinks alot of water.  I have a few bottles of water if your child forgets a water for the day.

Also, drop off time is from 7:45-8:15.  Second grade students come in the cafeteria door.  We will start class promptly at 8:15.

Next please download Epic Reading on your child's device.  It is free to use with the code vvh4537 for my class to use during the hours 7am-4pm on Monday through Friday.  We will use it alot during class hours starting Monday.  If you can download the app and have it ready to go, it will be easy on Monday for the students after I show them how to use it.  It is a wonderful app.

Next, please make sure the calendars that I sent home yesterday stay in the bring back side of student folders please.

Last, I sent home white bags yesterday full of school supplies.  Those are supplies that the students can keep at home.

We had another great day! I appreciate all of your hard work, time, and money to make our class as safe place.  I know it takes alot, and I really appreciate you.

If you would like to donate to extra items our class, we need cases of  little waters, gallon size zip lock bags, play doh, and $1.00 items from the Dollar tree for the treasure box.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Easter!

Luke 24:1-7

24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Happy Summer

Thank you for allowing me to teach your kiddos!
