2/18-2/22

Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday, February 18, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. If you would like a time slot, please let me know, and I will sign you up.  

We will be going to lunch at La Carreta on Tuesday, February 19.

We will be going to the Book Fair next week.  A yellow note came home Friday with a link if you would like to shop online.  Students may bring a small stuffed animal Monday and Tuesday to shop with them.  Also, parents are welcome to come and go with our class.  Our whole class will go on Monday (10:30-10:50) and Tuesday (8:30-8:50).  Only those with money will go on Wednesday-Friday (8:30-8:50).  It will also be open to families on Monday-Wednesday (2:30-3:30) and Saturday (1:00-4:00). 

Friday, Feb. 22., will be D.E.A.R.(Drop Everything And Read) Day in Second Grade. Students may bring in books from home and enjoy some free reading time.  They also may bring a small stuffed animal to read with.    

Students may work on I John 4:7-8 and say it by next Friday, Feb. 22. I have not felt well and was absent a day, and we did not get to go over it in class as much as I would have liked.

If anyone would like to donate to our classroom, we need some $1.00 items for the treasure box.

Thanks for a great homecoming week! We had a lot of fun!

Valentine's Day is Thursday.  We will have a small party.  I will send details later on Class Dojo.  Students may bring valentines in to pass out to their friends.  I sent a class list home.

It is Homecoming Week! We will be competing with other classes for a trip to La Carreta for lunch! We earn points by showing school spirit! Please encourage your children to participate. 

Theme:  Put on the Whole Armor of God
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God…” Ephesians 6:10-11
Theme Days
Monday- Red, White & Blue Day
Tuesday- Nerd Day
Wednesday- Hippie Day
Thursday- Cartoon Day
Friday- School Spirit Day

The Student Council will be selling School Spirit items, and we are doing penny wars.  If you would like to participate in penny wars, you can bring pennies for our class(rolled pennies earn extra points for us) and silver coins or dollar bills for the other classes. 

I will be giving an extra ticket for the treasure box each day to each student that dresses for Homecoming Week. I will also give extra tickets to all students who can say this verse by Monday, February 4. 
"Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole Armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-11"
We will have to say this verse super loud when the spirit stick comes around. Suit up and be prepared!

IT'S BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE WEEK!!!
We are loving this book! For Reading this week, we will be working on Because of Winn Dixie.  We will be visiting the public library on Wednesday, January 30, for a small field trip.  I will send a field trip paper home on Monday.
