2/4-2/8

Hello Everyone!!

New Verses for February! I John 4:7-10
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

We are starting something new this month that I am really excited about!  The students will be reading Chapter books during free time and at home for a free Papa Johns pizza.  I will talk with the students and send a paper home on requirements and details on Monday.  The students will have 2 months to complete assignments!  If they have some extra time this weekend, I thought they may want to start reading.  Books should be around 60-80 pages

Please continue to work with the students on responsibility encouraging them to take care of getting out and putting away homework, turning homework in the next day, and taking care of desks, folders, and bookbags themselves.

Please practice Spelling words every night! Each school day prior to a test, if your child brings me his/her written list of spelling words signed by a parent that they have completed the previous evening at home, I will offer 1 bonus point towards their test!

Please continue to work on Math facts 1-14 (addition and subtraction). We also started multiplication!  We learned 0 and 1 times tables this past week!

We are still collecting boxtops! All money will go toward the end of the year fun day!

The Prince of the Week is Walker!

Tests this week:
Monday:  Snow Day!
Tuesday:Bible (Psalm 1:1-6)!
Wednesday: Oral Reading and Penmanship!
Thursday: Spelling!
