1/11-1/15

Reading: 1. Free Reading week! Please read a book of your choice on Epic or a book from home. Please make a book report video for me. You will need to include: the title, author, illustrator, main characters, and the setting (where the story takes place). I would also like for you to read 1-2 pages to me. This must be a Second grade level book. Please post your video to Seesaw. 2. I also posted the game that we played in Reading groups on Friday to Seesaw. Please play that game with an adult that you live with if possible. If not you can play by yourself. 

Phonics: 1. Please bring a small noun to zoom on Monday to show to the class. Don't forget a noun is a person, place, or thing. Also you will need to bring pages 122 and 123 to zoom on Monday. 2. Please work on page 126 on your own and submit it. 3. I posted the song "Clap It Out" for you and a video of me doing page 130. Please complete this page with me. 

Spelling: Please write these words in alphabetical order. Also, pick 2 words from the list and write a complete sentence for each of them. You will need 2 complete sentences with this assignment. The words are owl, mouse, amount, tower, around, cloud, and town. 

Math: You will need to complete pages 138 and 140 with me. I posted videos of me teaching for you to watch. We will complete pages 142 and 144 on zoom together on Friday. You do not need to submit any of these pages back to me. 

Penmanship: Please complete page 93 and submit.

Bible: I posted a Joshua video for you to watch and 2 worship songs for you. Don't forget to work on memorizing Joshua 1:9.

History: Please watch the videos and read with me pages 164-175. 

We will start back to school on Tuesday, January 19. Individual picture retakes are Wednesday, January 20. 

The office will be on these days: Monday, January 11, from 11:00 3:00 and Thursday, January 14, from 10:00 3:00. We will have food pick up from 3-5:00 pm on Monday, January 11.

Office hours and food pick up

Hey everyone! I will post zoom information and what they will need for class on Sunday. Just wanted to share these few things with you. We will start back to school on Tuesday, January 19. The office will be open next week on these days: Monday, January 11 from 11:00 3:00 and Thursday, January 14, from 10:00 3:00. We will have food pick up from 3-5:00 pm on Monday, January 11. Thanks! 1/4-1/8

 Welcome Back! Looks like we are returning to the classroom on January 19! See you in the classroom soon! We will continue zoom on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays until then!

Reading: Read "Tracks in the Snow" every day. We will read it together on Friday in Reading groups. You also have an activity and quiz to do with this story. I posted a video of me reading this story. I also gave you some extra reading on Epic on animal tracks.

Phonics: I posted a video of me reading to you about nouns. Please look for nouns around your home. Take a picture of 5 nouns and send them to me on Seesaw. Also, we are working on special sounds "ou" and "ow". Please read the word work story posted every day. I posted 4 short activities on Seesaw for you as extra help with these sounds. Please read all of the words on activities. 

Spelling: Please write 10 "ou" words and 10 "ow" words. (Use your Phonics assignments to help you.) Also, pick 4 of your words and write a sentence using the word. You will need to write one of each of the following types of sentences: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory. You only need 4 sentences total.

Math: We will work on time to 5 minutes, carrying to tens and hundreds, and sums of 15 this week. We will work on pages 128, 129, and 130 together on zoom on Monday. If we don't complete it, I will post of video to help you complete them. You do not need to submit these papers. They are practice. You will complete pages 133-134 on your own and submit. I also posted a game and one activity on Seesaw for you. There is also a game on Schoology listed for you that you will find on Math manipulatives.

Penmanship: Please complete page 89 and submit. Be sure to read the instructions at the top before completing.

Bible: I posted a video to remind you of how Joshua becomes our next leader we are learning about. I also posted 2 songs for you to worship to this week. Please work on memorizing Joshua 1:9 KJV.

History: We are reading pages 152-163 together. I posted videos of me reading these pages to you. Please read along with me. Also, you may work on page 40 in your Activity book.

12/14-12/18

Reading: Please read the two books that I assigned to you on Epic. " The Littlest Christmas Tree" and "The Gingerbread Pirates." 

Please pick a Christmas book and read it all week. It can be one of these two books or one you have at home. By Friday, send me a video on Seesaw of you reading your two favorite pages. Be sure to tell me the title of the book before you start reading. 

Phonics: Please complete pages 113-114 and submit. Also, please complete the prefix and suffix assignment on Seesaw.

Spelling: You do not have a Spelling grade for the week. I would like for you to look for Christmas words as you are reading this week. I assigned a Christmas word search on Seesaw just for fun. 

Math: Please complete pages 115-116 and 125-126. You also have an assignment on Seesaw with math facts (+3).

Penmanship: Please complete Test 13 page 241.

Bible: I posted two videos for you to watch. Also practice reading Luke 2:8-14 every day.

History: Please watch the History of the Candy Cane. I also posted the Legend of the Candy Cane for you to watch.

12/7-12/11

 Bible-1. Read Luke 2:8-14 everyday. 2. Do one chore every day without being told to help your parents. 3. Watch the video "Preparing for Jesus. 4. Make a Christmas card for someone and write a note of encouragement in it. Mail it to them. It will brighten their day. ***You do not need to submit anything in Bible. We will read Luke 2:8-14 on Friday in Reading groups.

Reading-1.Read the "Hot Cocoa Stand" story I posted every day. (I made a video for you to listen to the first time.) We will read it together in Reading groups on Friday. 2. Complete the quiz. 3. Read the book The Pigs and a Gingerbread Man on Epic. Write one sentence on how this book is the same as The Gingerbread Man from last week, and write one sentence on how it is different from The Gingerbread Man.  You need two sentences total. 

Phonics-1.We will complete page 109-110 together on zoom on Imperative sentences. I also made an assignment on Seesaw comparing exclamatory and imperative sentences.2. Watch the video and song that I posted on prefixes. I also posted a video on Epic for you to watch on prefixes. I also posted an assignment on Seesaw on prefixes.

Spelling-Watch the two songs that I posted on "g in giant" and "dge in fudge". Please look around your house or in books for words that have "g in giant" or "dge in fudge". You need 15 words. Please write them down and submit them for this week.  

Math-Please take 5 or 10 minutes daily to work on Math facts on Math manipulatives games on Schoology. 1. Monday- we will work on page 113-114 during zoom. We will not be completing the whole page. I also made an assignment on Seesaw on Math fact families of 10. 2 Tuesday-Please work on page 117-118. Please do all of page 117 and submit. I made a video for page 118. You do not have to submit 118 after completing it with me. 3. Wednesday- Work on page 119-120. We will do page 120 on zoom. There are only a few parts I want completed on these pages. On page 119, please do number 2 only. On page 120, we will do 1-2 on zoom. I want you to complete number 3 on your own. You do not have to do number 4.   4.Thursday-Please complete and submit page 121. Please complete page 122 with me. I posted a video. You do not have to submit page 122. 5. Friday- Please complete and submit page 123-124. It will be a test grade.

Penmanship-Please complete page 68 this week.

History-I posted a video so that you could read with me on pages 147-150 in History. Please complete page 39 in your Activity book. (This doesn't have to be submitted. It is just a reinforcement of the reading on these pages. I think they will enjoy it, and it is extra practice in reading.)

Bible: 

Read Luke 2:8-14 (KJV) every day

Reading: 

Read Word Work 12 and "The Gingerbread Man" every day.

Monday: I posted of video on Schoology of me reading the word work and "The Gingerbread Man". Please read with me.

Tuesday: Write 5 sh words and 5 wh words from the word work story.

Wednesday: Pick a sh word and a wh word and write one exclamatory sentence for each.

Thursday: Practice reading "The Gingerbread Man". Also, pick a book on Epic. Please tell me the Title, Author, Main Characters, and write 2-3 sentences about your favorite part. 

Friday: Reading groups on zoom. Check the times on Class Dojo or Schoology updates. We will be reading "The Gingerbread Man".

Phonics/Language:

Monday: Phonics and Language page 99-100 (We will go over part of it on zoom, and there is a video posted on Schoology)

Tuesday: Phonics and Language page 101-102 (We will go over part of this on Monday's zoom and video) 

Wednesday: Phonics and Language page 103-104. Please complete number 2 on page 103 and all of page 104.

Thursday-Friday: I posted a sentence activity on Seesaw. Mark the correct punctuation mark for each sentence.

Spelling: 

Please find 5 words with either sh or wh and write a sentence for each word.  Please don't use words from our word work story.  Look for these words in other stories.

Math: 

Monday:We will go over part of page 103-104 on zoom. There is also a video posted on Schoology. Please complete these pages.

Tuesday: Math page 107-108

Wednesday: We will work on page 109-110 on zoom. 

Thursday- Math page 111

Friday- We will talk about Math 112 on zoom.

Penmanship:

I posted a video on Schoology. We are now writing on only 2 lines. Please complete page 62.

History and Art:

Monday: I posted a video of me reading pages 142-146 in History. Please read with me. 

Tuesday: Please complete page 38 in you History, Science, and Health activity book.

Wednesday: If you would like, you may complete "The Gingerbread Man" activity on Seesaw.
