1/15-1/19

No school Monday, January 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

Reports were sent home Friday, January 12.  Please sign and return them as soon as possible!

A form was sent home on Thursday, January 11, to order homecoming t-shirts.  Students must return the form first thing Tuesday, January 16, if they are ordering.  Orders will go out before 10:00 a.m. that day so that we can receive the shirts on time.  There is also a lot of information on that sheet about Homecoming/Spirt week, January 22-26.  Please read it carefully!

On Friday, January 19, we are having a Pet Fair in our classroom.  If your child would like to bring in one small, stuffed animal they may.  In the book we are reading, Sammy's class had a Pet Fair, and they had to tell about a trick their pet could do.  I would like for my students to tell a fact about the animal they choose to bring.

Test this week:
Wednesday: Spelling List 17 (posted on Class Dojo)
Thursday: Math (no studying at home)
Friday: Bible (Matthew 22:36-37 on Class Dojo) and Phonics

Just so you can prepare for Spirit Week! (January 22-26)
Monday-Crazy Day
Tuesday-Twin Day
Wednesday-Western Day
Thursday-Disney Day
Friday-School Spirit Day

Have a great weekend!

12/4-12/8

The Christmas Play will be on Thursday, December 7, at 10:00 a.m. and  7:00 p.m. Information was sent home on Friday, December 1.  All of second grade students need a long sleeve plain black shirt, plain black pants, and black socks.  Please put these items in a bag with your child's name on it and send it asap. (Monday would be great)  I would highly recommend that you sign your child out after the first performance and make them take a nap. It is a great day, but the kiddos get really tired!

We are celebrating Christmas every Friday at school.  Wear your favorite Christmas attire, and we will have a little Christmas surprise!

I am still planning to take my class to Dairy Queen on Friday, December 8.  I am planning to leave the school at 1:00.  All parents are welcome to attend.  If you have not sent $5.00 for ice cream, please do that asap. We will only be getting ice cream.

We will have no tests next week!

Gabriel will be our Student of the Week!

11/13-11/17

Mark your calendars for our Annual Christmas Play on Thursday, December 7.  There will be performances at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Students are required to be at both shows.  We will not have a Bible test until after the Christmas Play. Each student will receive a weekly grade for Bible based on their performance and behavior during practice.  Please encourage your children to sit quietly and to do their best at every practice!  Last, we will not have chapel until the Christmas play is over.

Wednesday, November 15, we will be having our School Thanksgiving Dinner, and Second Grade will be going to Dairy Queen at 1:30 for our class party.  All parents are welcome to go to Dairy Queen with us.  Each child will need to bring $5.00 to pay for ice cream.
