Join us to Honor our Veterans on

Friday, November 10

Mark your calendars for our Annual Christmas Play on Thursday, December 7.  There will be performances at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Students are required to be at both shows.  We will not have a Bible test until after the Christmas Play. Each student will receive a weekly grade for Bible based on their performance and behavior during practice.  Please encourage your children to sit quietly and to do their best at every practice!  Last, we will not have chapel until the Christmas play is over. 

 

We will be having our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday, November 15.  An invitation was sent home Thursday, November 2.  Please return it by Friday, November 10, if you plan to attend.   Also, we will be going to Dairy Queen at 1:30 that afternoon for our class party.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Each child will need to bring $5.00 to pay for ice cream.

 

There will be a PTF meeting on Wednesday, November 8, at 8:00 a.m. for all parents that want to volunteer for our school this year.  We will be discussing fundraisers to raise money for some playground equipment and other materials for our school.

10/30-11/3

We are mixing things up a bit this week. We will not be having a Spelling Test next Wednesday. Instead, I would like for the students to find 10 of their 20 Spelling words in a sentence while they are reading this week at home. They can use books from home or Reading homework that is assigned. They must write the complete sentence from their story and underline the Spelling word. Please don't wait until the last minute to do this whole assignment.  I am hoping that this will help these "er", "ir", and "ur" words stick. This assignment is due next Wednesday, November 1. However, they may turn it in whenever they finish. We will also be working with these words in class throughout the week!

We will have school on Friday, November 10, for Veteran's Day.  We will be having a ceremony to honor our Veterans at 10:00 a.m.

The County Literature Fair is Monday, October 16.  If your child was invited to attend, please make sure you follow the directions about set up and take down that was on paper that was sent home with your child.

Published author, Rachelle Wilfong will be visiting our campus on October 11. To purchase an autographed book, please bring $15.

Our school Literature Fair is on Tuesday, October 10.  Set up between 7:30-8:15 AM in Old Gym.

Our school is collecting school supplies until October 6 for the students down south that lost everything due to the recent hurricanes!!  We would love to have your help!

Picture Day for individual make-up or re-take pictures is Monday, October 2.

Our school Literature Fair is on October 10. 

If you would like to organize a party this year for our class (Fall, Christmas, Valentine's, Easter), please let me know.  I would LOVE for you to help!

Our school is collecting school supplies until October 6 for the students down south that lost everything due to the recent hurricanes!!  We would love to have your help!

Picture Day for individual make-up or re-take pictures is October 2.

Our school Literature Fair is on October 10.  If your child is interested in doing a project, please let me know as soon as possible.  It is not required for Second Grade, but it would be a great challenge for them.

If you would like to make donations to our classroom, we are needing Lysol or Clorox wipes and new play-doh (12 students).  We appreciate you!

Grandparent's Day is Friday, September 29!  All students will be dismissed as soon as the program is over!

We will be talking about insects next week.  If you would like to help your child look for insects, they are welcome to bring them in a closed container to show the class.
