11/2-11/6

November already??? We are moving right along!

I did not send home new Bible verses.  We will begin Christmas play practice on Monday, and the students will receive a Bible grade for their overall Christmas play performance/behavior during November.  New verses will not go home until the play is over.

The Christmas play will be on Friday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Students must be present for both performances.

Please encourage the students to read, read, read.  We are really working on reading with expression and pausing at the end of a sentence.

Lucas will be our Student of the Week!

Tests for the Week:
Wednesday-Spelling
Thursday-Arithmetic
Friday-Phonics

We are starting something new with Spelling.  The students will be given a Pre-Test on Fridays for their new list.  If they make a 100%, they will be given a short Challenge List that they will have to know for the real test on Wednesday.

The students are doing great with fractions.  A special THANK YOU to Mrs. Mandi Gerwig for coming and helping us make pizza on Wednesday.  It was so much fun and super delicious.

The students had so much fun reading to the younger grades on Friday.  They did a great job!! I am very proud of my students!! Please continue to do all Reading homework assignments.

Abraham will be our Student of the Week!!

We are running very low on Treasure Box items.  If you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it.  Please make sure the items do not cost any more than $1.00.

10/19-10/23

Isaac is the Student of the Week!

We are starting fractions in Math class.  We are going to make paper pizzas on Monday, but on Wednesday, I would like for the students to make real pizzas.  Each student will need to bring $5.00 in by Monday, October 19 so that I can pick up all of the supplies needed for lunch on Wednesday.  We will be eating our pizzas for our lunch Wednesday so no need to pack a lunch unless your child doesn't like pizza.

On Friday, October 23, we are going to be reading books to other students.  I would like for everyone to be practicing on a short story book at home that they would like to bring in that day and read to other students.  Students may dress as one of the characters in the book they choose. I would like to see the book that they choose first before reading it aloud to other students.  These books will be due on Monday, October 19.

Tests this week:
Wednesday: Spelling
Thursday:  Arithmetic
Friday: Phonics and Bible (Psalm 100:4)
